THE VISIONARY BEHIND SOUL CONNECT
It began with Mustang. It grew into a vision for hospitality.
A personal journey that revealed an industry-wide opportunity.
Soul Connect began in December 2022, shaped by a journey that was personal long before it became a professional vision.
For me, travelling has never been only about reaching a destination. It is about the experiences we share, the relationships we build and the memories we carry home. When Mustang became part of my life, that understanding took on a new meaning.
Mustang is not simply my dog. He is my companion, my travel partner and a central part of the experiences that have shaped my perspective. Travelling with him encouraged me to look at destinations and hospitality through a different lens.
The question was no longer simply where I wanted to go. It was whether the places I wanted to experience were genuinely prepared to welcome us both.
That distinction matters.
A property may permit pets without considering how the entire guest experience changes when a person arrives with an animal companion. The accommodation, the environment, the people, the communication, the operations and the expectations all play a role in determining whether that guest feels genuinely welcomed.
I began to recognise a larger opportunity in that gap between allowing pets and designing hospitality around their presence.
What started as a personal journey with Mustang grew into a broader ambition: to help hospitality businesses understand this opportunity and build the capability to respond to it professionally.
That ambition became Soul Connect.

Soul Connect is built on the belief that Pet-Inclusive Hospitality should be designed, taught, implemented and developed as a professional discipline — not treated as a collection of pet-friendly amenities or an informal exception to existing policies.
Hospitality businesses need more than permission-based rules. They need thoughtful guest experiences, prepared teams, practical operating systems, clear communication and an understanding of how people, pets and places interact.

I see a future in which hospitality professionals understand how to welcome guests travelling with pets with the same thoughtfulness and operational discipline they bring to every other part of the guest experience.
A future in which hospitality institutions teach the subject, teams receive practical training, businesses build suitable systems and professional standards help establish consistency.
That is the future Soul Connect is working towards.
Mustang helped me see the opportunity through lived experience. Soul Connect is the effort to turn that perspective into something the wider hospitality industry can use.
